I could give about 1,000 reasons why you should buy The Beatles Mono CD Box Set but that would take way more time than either of us want to spend. Plus it's not really necessary. I expect you should be plenty convinced after just reading the following eight reasons.
#1) The original mono mixes for The Beatles first 10 UK albums are included here on CD for the first time. Let It Be & Abbey Road are not included because they were never mixed in mono in the first place.
#2) Rubber Soul & Help! are included in their original stereo for the first time. You may be thinking, "why stereo, I thought this was a mono mix box set?" Well these stereo mixes are special because they have been "lost" since The Beatles albums were put on CD in the late 80s. Why? Because new stereo mixes were made at that time as these mixes were deemed unacceptable (I'm not sure by who.)
#3) Along with all of the album tracks that were originally mixed in mono, this box set also includes a two CD set called Mono Masters which includes the original mono mixes of all of their non album songs like "Hey Jude" and "We Can Work It Out."
#4) The vinyl LP replica packaging is very groovy.
#5) The Beatles Mono Box Set is currently sold out on the internet's biggest retailer (Amazon.) It's still available at some other online stores, but for how long? Make sure you buy this box set while you still can.
#6) These albums are not only being released in mono for the first time on CD, they have also been remastered with the highest quality digital mastering in the world. No limiting was used (see "loudness wars") which means that the original sound of these songs has not been tampered with. The purpose of this remastering was only to capture the original sound on the master tapes as perfectly as possible.
#7) If you want any of the discs in this set you must buy the entire box set because they are not available for individual purchase (only the stereo mixes of The Beatles albums will be available for individual purchase.)
#8) It's first time ever that The White Album has been released in it's original mono mix in the United States in any format. Why? Because in 1968 the US had already completely phased out mono while it was still being used in the UK.
